2017 Year in Review

December 14, 2017 | 0

2017 was La Boit’s 35th year in business, and let me tell ya, it was a great one! We continued to deliver what some of our customers have affectionately referred to as the “Cadillacs of Specialty Vehicles.” And of course, we did it with the best customer service in the business.

A big part of that is making sure we’re delivering our 35 years of industry-expertise to each and every one of our clients – not only on how to design and lay out their vehicle, but also how to fund it and promote it. One of our most popular articles this year was “Using Grants to Fund Your Specialty Vehicle.” We talked about some of the ways that other La Boit clients have used grant funding in creative ways, either to fund specific initiatives, or by combining grants with other fundraising or financing activities.

In Bloodmobile news, Oklahoma Blood Institute celebrated 40 years, the San Diego Blood Bank took delivery of their 5th La Boit build vehicle, and LifeShare Blood Centers won a national graphic design award for their Blah Blah campaign to introduce their new mobile fleet.

In the Medical field, we talked about two medical vehicles for two very different clients, highlighting the many different business types to which a mobile medical clinic can add value. Empower U, Inc is a federally-funded community health center. Safety Controls Technology is a private business that focuses on occupational health testing and consulting.

In Dental, we completed a dental clinic for Las Clinicas Del Norte, which is the only provider of primary, dental, and behavioral health care in a 2500 square mile area in rural New Mexico.

For Veterinary, South Jersey Mobile Veterinary Services became famous, being featured with a team of others on a miniseries from The Animal Planet called “The Guardians.” We also caught up with Dr. Kristen Vance of Homeward Bound Mobile Veterinary Clinic, a mobile veterinarian since 2010, to gain her words of wisdom on running a mobile veterinary practice.

And last but not least, we spotlighted two humane societies. First, The Animal Alliance of Galveston County, whose 40ft Freightliner you may have seen at the 2017 Animal Care Expo. And the Coastal Humane Society, whose first and only mobile spay/neuter clinic was an economical choice over building new surgical centers in their two locations.

Overall, another great year for La Boit and our clients! 2018, here we come!
